The Apollo BA12 Barrier Arm Operator is designed to handle a barrier arm up to 16 feet in total length. Apollo Operators are available only through qualified dealers with an outstanding reputation in the fence and gate industry. These dealers will be able to recommend the proper equipment for particular applications. Apollo Operators are 12 Volt DC (Direct Current) powered. A 12 Volt sealed battery (33 ampere hour minimum) is recommended.
- Supply Voltage: Low voltage, can be run up to 1000' without an electrician or a solar panel can be purchased to charge the battery (12 VDC, 33aH Sealed Lead Acid). Low voltage virtually eliminates risk of electrical shock.
- Well Built: All internal steel parts are zinced so it will not rust. The cover and pedestal are powder coated black.
- Smooth Operation: Smooth mechanical soft start and stop operation. No limit adjustments necessary.
- Warranty: 2 year limited warranty
- Secure: Cover is key lock secured.
- High number of backup cycles: Battery powered operators can provide up to 500 operations in the event of power outages.

"The Apollo barrier operator is a great way to stop traffic from entering a road. All the time we have customers call in to our staff looking for a way to block a rural residential driveway from wandering outside traffic but they do not want to spend the time and money on an ornamental gate and gate opener. A barrier is the perfect solution and because this is the first solar or low voltage barrier operator they can install this themselves and in extremely remote locations.
One of my favorite features of this barrier operator is the fact that you can use just about anything as the actual barrio arm. Our suggestion is an aluminum downspout for a gutter. It looks good, it is extremely light weight so it will not do damage if it comes down on anything, and it is priced cheap for inexpensive replacement. Two other materials including PVC and wood can be used but I again feel the gutter downspout is a great solution for safety and cost effectiveness.
Apollo has been known for years to be the leader in solar automation. They began and still reside in Texas and designed their products around the needs of the people around them, ranchers. Ranchers demand two things; solar efficiency and reliability. Both of these are evident in everything that Apollo makes. This gate opener can generally run about 500 cycles off a full charged battery without recharging. That would be a lot of cloudy days in a row.
