The exit wand gets buried in the ground next to the driveway, not under it, which is a huge convenience over standard exit loops found on commercial installations. With an exit wand, as moving metal passes by where the wand is buried, the wand is triggered and the gate opener is activated, making exiting for you and your guest truly hands-free. The installation of the solar panels is as straight forward as plugging in the transformer into the electrical outlet. Just face the solar panel towards the South* and run the wires to the battery. The solar panel will trickle charge your battery, allowing you to achieve the desired cycles per day.

Both the keypads can be used wirelessly which also adds another level of security. With wired keypads, if the trespasser jumps the right wires the gate can be activated, but when the keypads are wireless they are essentially code-protected remotes.
The package also provides a 7 lb. steel automatic gate lock (only for swing gates). This lock latches and unlatches automatically with the operation of the gate opener. Gate openers themselves are not devices of security, but devices of convenience, and are not built to resist up to 1600 lbs of force on the gate.
