Estate Communication Package:
The Estate Communication Package is designed to provide the homeowner with real time communication at the gate. With the intercom/keypad at the gate, the visitors are allowed to gain access into the property when provided with the proper code, or they can initiate voice communication with the residence. Real time communication allows homeowners to filter and determine on spot who is entering the property and who is not. The entrance is secure and accessible for the indicated people. Exiting is also convenient. In combination to the intercom/keypad, you will get an exit sensor, providing an easy hands free exit from the property. And because of the Homelink ® compatibility w/ all GateCrafters.com packages, you will be able to program the opening code into the desired vehicles, having virtually unlimited remotes in addition to the hard-remotes provided in the package.
The intercom/keypad can be used either wired or wirelessly (depending on the model) with your selected opener. Wireless operation is obviously the most popular because of the ease of installation. But in situations where you wish to have enhanced intercom features or need to install the keypad/intercom outside the range of the gate opener receiver, it can be wired in.
The exit wand gets buried in the ground next to the driveway, not under it, which is a huge convenience over standard exit loops found on commercial installations. With an exit wand, as moving metal passes by where the wand is buried, the wand is triggered and the gate opener is activated, making exiting for you and your guest truly hands-free. Nothing is visible from the surface so your property is still secure because those who don't know about your system won't know that the exit wand is there.

Installation of these accessories is a breeze. The keypad/intercom could be used wired or wireless (depending on the model). Wireless is the easiest - simply match up the dip switches with your remotes and program your codes. If you need to wire in the keypad/intercom, model specified low voltage wire is all that is needed. The exit wand is direct burial so no conduit is required and it comes with 50' of wire pre-attached to run back to the gate opener.

The Solar Package is designed to power-up your gate opener via solar panels and dismiss the necessity of running wires to bring electrical power to your gate. If the nearest power source is more than 1,000' away, or you'd just rather avoid running wires to your gate, you can still install a gate opener and energize it with solar power. An additional hard remote control is provided for your convenience. And because of the Homelink ® compatibility with all GateCrafters.com packages, you will be able to program the opening code into the desired vehicles, having virtually unlimited remotes in addition to the hard-remotes provided in the package.

The installation of the solar panels is as straight forward as plugging in the transformer into the electrical outlet. Just face the solar panel towards the South* and run the wires to the battery. The solar panel will trickle charge your battery, allowing you to achieve the desired cycles per day.
* Optimum orientation for solar panels: (your latitude x 0.9) + 29 degrees = # of degrees your panel should be angled towards true South from the horizontal position (laying flat pointing directly up).

The Security Package is designed to make your property off limits to anyone you do not wish to enter. By setting up a keypad on the inside and outside, you keep your gate system convenient to those who do not have remotes while at the same time making both opening devices code secured. In other scenarios, such as having a push button or an exit wand on the inside, a trespasser could jump the fence and trigger the gate to open. But with two keypads, no code means that you are locked out. And because of the Homelink ® compatibility w/ all GateCrafters.com packages, you will be able to program the opening code into the desired vehicles, having virtually unlimited remotes in addition to the hard-remotes provided in the package.
Both the keypads can be used wirelessly which also adds another level of security. With wired keypads, if the trespasser jumps the right wires the gate can be activated, but when the keypads are wireless they are essentially code-protected remotes.
The package also provides a 7 lb. steel automatic gate lock (only for swing gates). This lock latches and unlatches automatically with the operation of the gate opener. Gate openers themselves are not devices of security, but devices of convenience, and are not built to resist up to 1600 lbs of force on the gate. That is where the gate lock comes in; let the trespasser exert force on the gate lock, your gate is not going to budge and your equipment will stay functional and unharmed.
