Gate Crafters' solar packages are ideal for property owners wishing to
automate a gate in a remote location (where power is unavailable),
wanting to save money on power costs, or desiring a preventative measure
against damaging power surges. Selecting the appropriate solar panel
will be essential in ensuring that the power supply can meet the daily
cycles required for individual usage. Additionally, using the formula
below will ensure that the solar panel collects the optimum amount of
energy possible.
Optimum Orientation for Solar Panels: (Latitude x 0.9) + 29 Degrees =
Number of degrees the panel should be angled towards true South from the
horizontal position (laying flat pointing directly up).

GateCrafters.com has actual experience. We have a testing area,
we have factory and internal training courses, we build gates and have
our own gates that are automated, we attended all industry trade shows
in multiple countries and are a member of the AFA, and we pay visits to
our chosen manufacturers' factories. All these factors are what have
lead to us having so many exclusive additions. When you see and actually
use as many products as we have you tend to have many ideas for minor
changes that have major impacts. We acted on these ideas and have
utilized them to help thousands of customers automate their gates.

As part of one of GateCrafters.com's constant quality checks and
knowledge updates, I personally go to visit the factories in which the
products we sell are made. I made 6 visits to the GTO Inc. US facility,
most recently in Februrary 2009. My visits accumulated a considerable
period of time visiting because they were not only to tour the facility
and meet employees, but also for authorized factory training. During
training I received a certificate (Click here to view) and a score
of 100% on the Factory Certified training exam.

The colors on this map designate solar zones during the periods of the
year when the least amount of sun light is available. The recommended
cycles do not factor the power draw of accessories. Cycles are
considered one full opening and closing movement of a maximum
size/weight gate for the corresponding opener. Cycles are also figured
to be proportionally distributed over a 12 to 14 hour period; not
consecutive.
