- Column and Large Post Mounting The E-SC 1102 can be used on gate mounted up to 8" from the back of the post or column. Most operators must have the gate mounted closer to the back of the post or column in order to get correct leverage. This is done with the E-SC 1102 by utilizing the traditional articulating operator design in a compact streamlined arm.
- No Positive Stops needed The E-SC 1102 will stop in the closed position without the use of positive stops (physical stopping points in the driveway for the gate to hit) unlike most other gate openers in this price range.
- Opening/Closing Soft Stop Opening/Closing Soft Stop is a feature in which the control board, during the easy set up process, learns where your opening and closing points are for the swing of the gate. Then during normal operation the gate operator automatically slows the motion of the gate to smoothly meet with the gates destination point.
- Advanced Gear System - The gear system is one of the most important parts of a gate opener; it influences power, control, reliability, and the life span of the motor. The E-SC 1102 uses a planetary gear system cutting down on bearing wear and motor deterioration.

"The Estate Swing is made by the largest gate opener manufacturer in the world that is known for their unrelenting commitment to quality. They have now teamed up with us, the largest gate opener retailer, to release the latest of in their accomplished line of gate openers; the Estate Swing line of openers. The Estate Swing E-SC 1102 is designed with the residential do-it-yourselfer in mind. It has amazing features that can't be found on any other opener on the market.
The Estate Swing E-SC 1102 dual gate opener is designed for gates ranging from 12 feet in length or 550 lbs per leaf. This sliding scale rating easily accommodates most residential gates. The one exception to the approved weight and length ratings are solid gate. Because this gate opener is much safer than others, solid gate provide too much resistance and should not be used with this opener. This opener has a unique mechanical design that is practically fail-safe. Mechanical failures, such as dislocated or broken limit switches, are the most common difficulty with gate openers. The Estate Swing E-SC 1102 has brought the number of mechanical parts to a minimum, including eliminating limit switches all together, to create a system that vastly more reliable. The Estate Swing E-SC 1102 utilizes a smart control board to run the commands mechanical parts of other systems run.
Opening/Closing Soft Stop is a new feature in gate openers. This means that the gate opener remembers the limits of the opening and closing cycles, and slows the momentum of the gate to gently reach its stopping point. Before the Opening/Closing Soft Stop feature was only found on openers that cost over a thousand dollars. The Estate Swing E-SC 1102 is the most affordable gate opener on the market with this feature.
The "C" in E-SC 1102 stands for column mount. Columns and large posts are always difficult to mount on because of the setback most openers require. This opener uses the articulating design of the old pad-mounted openers may people have seen for years. The only difference is this opener fit everything, gears, motor, arm and all into one sleek housing. The E-SC 1102 can be mounted on columns or posts with the gates mounted up to 8' from the back of the column. This means from the center of the hinges of the gate, the measurement to the back of the post or column can be up to 8' in length. The opener will then be mounted on the back of the post or column.
Another big plus is this gate opener does not need positive stops. Positive stops are needed on most of the lower cost openers. With dual setups, positive stops are hard to achieve because for them to truly stop the momentum of the gate and the force of the opener combined they have to be out in the center of the driveway. The E-SC 1102 arm locks out in the closed position and can't close any further, thus creating its own positive stop. Safety is always a top concern with FAAC. They have designed their system to be the safest in the world. We at GateCrafters.com always recommend having external safety devices such as photo sensors installed on your opener to prevent damage or injury. The Estate Swing E-SC 1102, first, has an auto-reverse feature built in. Even if you do not decide to install any external safety devices, the Estate Swing E-SC 1102 will automatically reverse directions if it comes in contact with an obstruction. The top safety feature is how safety devices are wired on the Estate Swing E-SC 1102. Other gate openers have a flawed system; they are hooked up on a normally open circuit, which means if your safety device is not functioning properly it will not stop the movement of your gate. This can lead to disastrous results. The Estate Swing E-SC 1102 works on normally closed connections for safety devices. In most cases, if the safety device is not functioning properly, the normally closed connection will be open, the same as when there is a breach of the safety device, and the gate will not move.
As if all the previously mentioned features aren't impressive enough, the Estate Swing E-SC 1102 also has a state of the art diagnostic system. After set up you can check out your diagnostics lights to be sure accessories are connected correctly. The lights quickly tell you if a connection is made or not made in the accessory terminals. This will save all users time from having to guess what is preventing proper operation and prevent users from testing and reconnecting terminals that were connected properly to begin with.

As part of one of GateCrafters.com's constant quality checks and knowledge updates. I personally go to Italy annually to visit the factories in which Estate Swing products are made. One of my goals is to see what exactly is being done to meet the high standards of the ISO 9000 ratings. What I have found is every part that is assembled is put through a computer-guided test. Some tests for example are to be sure the electrical side of the part has the correct amount of resistance; another to test the motion vibrations of moving parts, a third is the overall longevity of the part. The computer then rejects or accepts the part. Another test done at the factory is running samples of the openers at 50% duty cycle for the entire life of the warranty at its rated capacities to ensure reliability.
