- Opening/Closing Soft Stop Opening/Closing Soft Stop is a feature in which the control board, during the easy set up process, learns the motor revolutions between the start and stop of the gate. Then during normal operation the gate operator automatically slows the motion of the gate to smoothly meet with the gates destination point.
- Advanced Gear System - The gear system is one of the most important parts of a gate opener; it influences power, control, reliability, and the life span of the motor. The E-S 1100 uses a planetary gear system cutting down on bearing wear and motor deterioration.
- All Weather Compatible - This arm can handle the cold, heat and everything in between. The arm has no exposed shafts that can become iced over. The housing is a durable powder-coated die cast aluminum body, which gives it greater stability and strength. The bottom also comes fitted with a dust blocking strip to prevent dirt from entering from the bottom.
- One Touch EZ Programming The Estate Swing E-S 1100 can be programmed by pressing one button. The control board is built to be inherently intelligent and learns the opening and closing times automatically. There are no manual adjustments on the arm need to be made! Simply place a permanent physical stop in the closed position.
- Highest Level of Safety The Estate Swing E-S 1100 automatically reverses directions when it comes in contact with an obstruction. The Estate Swing E-S 1100 also has the safest method of controlling safety devices. All safety devices are set up on a Normally Closed circuit. Some gate openers are set up on a normally open circuit. What this means is that the Estate Swing E-S 1100 is virtually fail-safe. If a safety device does not activate for any reason the Estate Swing E-S 1100 will not operate, keeping your loved ones and assets safe. Gate Openers with safety devices set up on a Normally Open connection will operate with the disabled safety device and the consumer will not know the safety device is inactive until it is too late!
- Quick, Safe and Secure Manual Release Every unit comes with a key chain ready manual release key. In the rare case power has failed and the battery lost its charge, the manual release key can be used to safely open your gate without damaging your opener arm or disconnecting anything from your gate.
- Preset Gate Function Logics At the touch of a button you can change multiple settings on your gate opener to be focused towards safety, convenience, etc.

The Estate Swing E-S 1100 is the light duty model opener specifically designed with the residential do-it-yourselfer in mind. It is a sleek low-profile gate opener that will blend with any homeowners landscaping decor. The Estate Swing E-S 1100 single gate opener is designed for gates ranging from 12 feet in length or 550 lbs. This sliding scale rating easily accommodates a lot of lightweight residential gates. The one exception to the approved weight and length ratings are solid gates. Because this gate opener is much safer than others, solid gates provide too much resistance and should not be used with this opener. This opener can be used as a low voltage plug in unit or as a solar compatible unit. The solar/high usage extended size battery that used to be considered an extra option is now standard with all units sold. And we are proud to say that we here at GateCrafters are the first to include this upgrade as part of our already low sale price. Also the adjustable brackets make installation a breeze. Even push to open can be done without modification of your posts with the purchase of the push-to-open bracket.
This opener has a unique mechanical design that is practically fail-safe. Mechanical failures, such as dislocated or broken limit switches, are the most common difficulty with gate openers. The Estate Swing E-S 1100 has brought the number of mechanical parts to a minimum, including eliminating limit switches all together, to create a system that vastly more reliable. The opener uses an intelligent motor revolution counting system to know the position of the gate and can also use that system to remember the opening stopping point. As with any opener though, when counting there must be a common reference point to begin from and/or return to or counting could easily be thrown off during obstructions or just natural added resistance build up in the gates swing, and with this unit that is in the form of a physical positive stop in the closed position that you must install.
One of the top mechanical features is the planetary gear system, the only one of its kind for in an open of this price bracket. A planetary gear system is one in which as the center (or sun) gear rotates the planet gears rotate around the outside of it which then move a gear box that holds the solar system together. This is the most efficient gear system and saves a lot of wear and tear on your opener. But don't take my word for it, Robert Parker and Jian Lin of Ohio State University stated in a report to NASA and the US ARMY, "Planetary gears have substantial advantages over parallel shaft drives, including compactness, large torque-to-weight ratio, diminished loads on shafts bearings," (this includes the front motor bearing) "and reduced noise and vibration due to the relatively smaller and stiffer components."*
The Estate Swing E-S 1100 also features one touch easy programming, cutting your installation set up time in half. Once the gate opener is mounted, to learn where the gate will begin slowing down, all you have to do is press one button and that's it. Preset gate logics also help you to customize the performance of your gate to adapt to your needs quickly. It's a great way to gear your opener to be more safety conscience or convenient. The manual outlines each one of these logics but, as always, if you need help deciding which one fits your needs GateCrafters will be standing by to help.
Safety is always a top concern with Estate Swing. They have designed their system to be the safest in the world. We at GateCrafters.com always recommend having external safety devices such as photo sensors installed on your opener to prevent damage or injury. The Estate Swing E-S 1100, first, has an auto-reverse feature built in. Even if you do not decide to install any external safety devices, the Estate Swing E-S 1100 will automatically reverse directions if it comes in contact with an obstruction. The top safety feature is how safety devices are wired on the Estate Swing E-S 1100. Other gate openers have a flawed system; they are hooked up on a normally open circuit, which means if your safety device is not functioning properly it will not stop the movement of your gate. This can lead to disastrous results. The Estate Swing E-S 1100 works on normally closed connections for safety devices. In most cases, if the safety device is not functioning properly, the normally closed connection will be open, the same as when there is a breach of the safety device, and the gate will not move.
As if all the previously mentioned features aren't impressive enough, the Estate Swing E-S 1100 also has a state of the art diagnostic system. After set up you can check out your diagnostics lights to be sure accessories are connected correctly. The lights quickly tell you if a connection is made or not made in the accessory terminals. This will save all users time from having to guess what is preventing proper operation and prevent users from testing and reconnecting terminals that were connected properly to begin with.

As part of one of GateCrafters.com's constant quality checks and knowledge updates. I personally go to Italy annually to visit the factories in which Estate Swing products are made. One of my goals is to see what exactly is being done to meet the high standards of the ISO 9000 ratings. What I have found is every part that is assembled is put through a computer-guided test. Some tests for example are to be sure the electrical side of the part has the correct amount of resistance; another to test the motion vibrations of moving parts, a third is the overall longevity of the part. The computer then rejects or accepts the part. Another test done at the factory is running samples of the openers at 50% duty cycle for the entire life of the warranty at its rated capacities to ensure reliability.
