Why is there only one ball bearing?

When installing a driveway gate the top pin with the ball bearing will bear the weight of the gate the bottom pin with the pin facing up will keep the gate plumb so the pressure on this pin will be on the side of the pin. This configuration is important for both safety and security, this prevents the gate from being â€œliftedâ€ off its hinges.
