The best gate lock is the Estate Swing Low Impact gate lock. The draw is only 1 amp, and this draw only occurs for the few seconds the gate opener is starting to open. Otherwise it is inert not draining your solar power. Also since it takes very little force to latch, the slow down cycle of the Mighty Mule wont pose an issue with consistently latching.
