These symptoms are generally an indication of batteries going bad. there are 2, 12 volt batteries wired in series behind the control board. These batteries should independently read about 13.5 volts when fully charged (27 volts together) and should not drop more than 2/10th of a volt when the gate is in motion. Generally they need to be replaced every 3 to 5 years.
