DC20 has a strong twin channel steel chassis and adjustable taper clutch that greatly improves the ability for SwingSmart to resist damage from vehicle hits on the gate. Also this design incorporates a universal gate arm to assure elegance and functionality. An articulating arm optional is available to provide adaptability to a variety of sites situations. The components on the Smart DC Controller are protected by opto-isolators which shield them from power surges and lighting strikes. This unit is rated to handle gates up to 20 feet long or 1300 pounds. The variable speed control board supplies a powerful, continuous 24V DC motor which drives a 600: 1 gearbox providing variable speeds. The open and close speed will vary depending on the weight and length of your gate to guarantee a smooth handling. This unit is meant to work in extreme temperatures that range from -13 to 158 degrees F (-25 to 70 C). The main feature for this operator is the Smart DC Controller. This controller automatically adjusts the gate speed to synchronize both gates so they can reach the desired open and close position at the same time. Independent leaf adjustments for bi-parting gates is selectable in ½ second increments. An easy to use menu allows the installer to vary the open and close speed setting in a range between 10 - 15 seconds. The Smart DC Controller has a multitude of menu items that allow installer configuration of gate function and two programmable user relays. Also included with this unit is 1 intelligent entrapment sensor that will sense any impediment to gate travel and stop the gate movement per UL 325 Standard of Safety. This controller also provides a USB communication port, by using a direct connect it will provide accessibility to download system diagnostics and upload system configurations using the Smart Touch Analyze and Retrieve Tool (S.T.A.R.T) software.
