- Opening/Closing Soft Stop - Opening/Closing Soft Stop is a feature in which the control board, during the easy set up process, learns where your opening and closing points are for the swing of the gate. Then during normal operation the gate operator automatically slows the motion of the gate to smoothly meet with the gate's destination point.
- Large 24V Motor - The motor of the E-SC 1602 is one of the largest found on any residential gate opener. It is well equipped to handle gates up to 800 lbs, more weight than found in many heavily ornamented gates.
- Extended Setback - Most gate operators have a required setback for the rear pivot point on the post. This pivot point set back many times makes it difficult to mount on columns. The Estate Swing E-SC 1602 is a revolutionary opener that is set to make column mounting a breeze. It has amazing features that can’t be found on any other opener on the market.
The Estate Swing E-SC 1602 dual gate opener is designed for gates from 16 feet in length or 800 lbs. The unit attaches to the gate via an articulating arm that reaches back behind the corner of the column, making it possible for setbacks that are not available to most linear operators. A concern with older model articulating arms were pinch points, Estate Swing has now eliminated these. The articulating arm has curved pivot point connections, making it safer to have around families. The Estate Swing E-SC 1602 utilizes a smart control board to run the commands mechanical parts of other systems run.
Opening/Closing Soft Stop is a new feature in gate openers. This means that the gate opener remembers the limits of the opening and closing cycles, and slows the momentum of the gate to gently reach its stopping point.
The Estate Swing E-SC 1602 also features one touch easy programming, cutting your installation set up time in half. Once the gate opener is mounted and your variables are set, to learn how far your gate opens and closes, all you have to do is press one button and that’s it. The E-SC 1602 can also be used without positive stops. It can be used with point-positive limit switches for easy stopping points when positive stops, or physical stopping points, are not desired.
Safety is always a top concern with FAAC. They have designed their system to be the safest in the world. We at GateCrafters.com always recommend having external safety devices such as photo sensors installed on your opener to prevent damage or injury. The Estate Swing E-SC 1602, first, has an auto-reverse feature built in. Even if you do not decide to install any external safety devices, the Estate Swing E-SC 1602 will automatically reverse directions if it comes in contact with an obstruction. The top safety feature is how safety devices are wired on the Estate Swing E-SC 1602. Other gate openers have a flawed system; they are hooked up on a normally open circuit, which means if your safety device is not functioning properly it will not stop the movement of your gate. This can lead to disastrous results. The Estate Swing E-SC 1602 works on normally closed connections for safety devices. In most cases, if the safety device is not functioning properly, the normally closed connection will be open, the same as when there is a breach of the safety device, and the gate will not move.
As if all the previously mentioned features aren't impressive enough, the Estate Swing E-SC 1602 also has a state of the art diagnostic system. After set up you can check out your diagnostics lights to be sure accessories are connected correctly. The lights quickly tell you if a connection is made or not made in the accessory terminals. This will save all users time from having to guess what is preventing proper operation and prevent users from testing and reconnecting terminals that were connected properly to begin with.

As part of one of GateCrafters.com's constant quality checks and knowledge updates. I personally go to Italy annually to visit the factories in which Estate Swing products are made. One of my goals is to see what exactly is being done to meet the high standards of the ISO 9000 ratings. What I have found is every part that is assembled is put through a computer-guided test. Some tests for example are to be sure the electrical side of the part has the correct amount of resistance; another to test the motion vibrations of moving parts, a third is the overall longevity of the part. The computer then rejects or accepts the part. Another test done at the factory is running samples of the openers at 50% duty cycle for the entire life of the warranty at its rated capacities to ensure reliability.
