This 8'x3'x3' Mounting Post is meant to be installed on the side of the gate opposite the setback to provide a symmetrical appearance with the required hinge post. Installation requires setting the post approximately 2' deep into the ground, so the height will be about 6' after installation. The Mounting Post can be used in conjunction with all Gate Crafters gates and gate openers, and can accommodate both pull-to-open and push-to-open setups.
Many gateposts do not accommodate the installation of the post-mounting brackets in a way that the mandatory setback is achieved. The Mounting Post allows for addition placement options for the post-mounting bracket. The post comes finished in flat black with a top post cap. The posts are made of 11 gauge steel (wall 1/8" thick) that has been galvanized and optionally powder coated. If you order these with a powder-coated gate, then your posts will automatically come powder coated. If you order separately, you have the option to add powder coating.
