When setting up a single drive way gate entrance having two posts is preferred. When purchased these posts are compatible with 6 foot tall swing gates also sold by GateCrafters.com. The hinges are pre-welded for easy installation. They can accommodate both pull-to-open and push-to-open setups. If purchased with a custom gate, 3-rail gate, custom gate frame, or forestry gate this post will be customized and built with your driveway gate in production. The posts are available in two sizes: 8' x 3" x 3". When used with the a single driveway gate, this post works as a "dummy." It is placed to be on the opposite side of the driveway than the gate is hinged on to provide a symmetrical appearance. This single post measures 8' x 3" x 3" depending on option selected and doesn't include hinges to highlight its a smooth surface.
Installation requires setting the post approximately 2' deep into the ground, so the height will be about 6' - 8' after installation (depending on post size selected).
The posts are made of 11 gauge steel (wall 1/8" thick) that has been galvanized and will match the product purchase. They also come with a standard post cap.
